NEtoon Creative is an independent artist and studio based in Gateshead, designing and crafting handmade North East gifts and souvenirs, including bespoke Wor Angel of the North figures and local landmark model kits, with a focus on sustainability and regional charm.
About
What do you make or do? I'm an independent artist running NEtoon Creative, a Gateshead studio founded in 2015. I design, sculpt and paint handmade North East gifts and souvenirs. Wor Angel of the North figures, wooden model kits of the Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and Gateshead Millennium Bridge (with an expanding range to come), northeast themed cards, enamel pins, magnets, Christmas decorations and prints. I also take custom commissions, including bespoke Wor Angels, and do public art (most notably the st oswalds art trails). I also collaborate with other artist and business looking to make products, small scale production or display pieces. Who's it for? Proud Geordies, Newcastle and Sunderland fans, and anyone wanting to take a proper slice of the North East home. It suits people buying gifts for birthdays, weddings, Christmas, Mother's and Father's Day, and keepsakes or memorials. Retailers can also stock the range, and I'm open to new stockists. What would you like people to know? Everything is designed and handmade right here in the North East, and it's built to be sturdy, well made and as eco-friendly as possible, using sustainable materials and responsible packaging. The products are original and personal, with real Northeast charm and a bit of Geordie humour. They're stocked in places like Fenwick, have been featured in The Guardian, Chronicle Live, Newcastle magazine and I've worked with brands, businesses and charities across the region.
