I'm Joe Wilson. I help businesses figure out what they're trying to say, who they're saying it to, and then build the brand, content, website, and working bits around that properly.
01 / The story
I work in marketing, but I have never felt like just a marketing guy.
Most of my work has been around brands: helping businesses work out what they are trying to say, who they are saying it to, and what needs building around that. Content, websites, campaigns, positioning, the lot.
More recently, I started building the working bits myself too: automations, dashboards, small tools, and the unglamorous jobs that stop a business relying on five platforms that do not speak to each other.
That is where I am most useful. I understand the brand and the thinking behind it, but I can also get into the detail and make the thing work.
02 / The North East
NAMI started with a simple idea: support the North East and give good creative work a bit more light.
I am a born and bred Newcastle lad, and I love seeing people around here win. Artists, musicians, makers, local businesses, independent brands, people grafting away and putting proper thought into how they show up.
That is still part of NAMI. The client work helps businesses get their marketing sorted, but the wider page keeps spotlighting the people, places, and projects making the region feel alive.
When a business feels sorted from Instagram to website to shop floor, it gets noticed straight away. Those details deserve credit, especially up here, where there is far more good work happening than people give the region credit for.

The Instagram, website, content, and automation should feel like the same business. Nothing jars. Nothing feels rushed.
Clear thinking first
Before more posts, pages, or campaigns, the business needs to know what it is saying and who it is for.
Keep good ideas moving
Good ideas die when they stay in your head. I help turn them into something people can see, use, and build on.

Hi, I'm Joe Wilson
I started NAMI Creative because I got tired of seeing good ideas slowed down by messy processes, unclear words, or five different tools that did not quite talk to each other. I like figuring out the idea, then getting it live.
Twenty years in brand building and design sit behind that. I held a head-of-department role at the UK's leading energy consultants' trade body, building a brand with enough weight to earn a seat in Westminster, and I've been featured on BBC Radio for the Nami Up North project.
I am a proud dad, easy to get along with, and I love nothing more than seeing people around me win. I am always open to good conversations, interesting projects, and people doing things properly.
