About
Leanne Pearce is a Newcastle-based artist working primarily in oil painting. Her practice explores the human figure, identity, vulnerability and the search for comfort and connection. Working with rich colour, pattern and expressive realism, her paintings invite viewers to look beyond the surface and consider the stories we carry. Alongside her personal practice, Leanne is the founder of Portraits with Purpose, a collaborative project creating portrait collections in partnership with charities, healthcare organisations and community groups. Through these projects, she uses portraiture to celebrate individuals, share lived experiences and bring visibility to people and stories that might otherwise go unseen.
