Voracious reader, dynamic writer, and lit librarian from New Zealand, now based in England’s North East. Modern English-Language haiku and short-form poetry specialist. Available for poetry workshops and author talks in schools, libraries, and the community. Kirsten primarily writes about her experience of chronic illness and disability alongside the natural world. She enjoys collaborating with other creatives and often combines poetry with collage, zines, and digital photography. Kirsten's first book 'Patient Property: A Journey Through Leukaemia' (Velvet Dusk Publishing, 2019) was shortlisted in The Haiku Foundation's Touchstone Distinguished Books Award 2019, and her new collection 'A Body of Work: Poems on Aging and Chronic Illness' (Cuttlefish Books, 2026) has been dubbed "an important contribution to the reclamation of the contemporary disability narrative" by the President of The Haiku Foundation.
